WHat can you do for bloating and inflammation?

Bloating has become everyone’s norm lately — but if you’re someone who eats and immediately feels puffy, distended, or swollen… this one’s for you.

Most people jump straight to blaming gluten or dairy. And while taking a break from those foods can offer some relief, it doesn’t automatically mean you have a true allergy — or that you need to remove them forever.

More often, the real issue is an irritated, overly permeable gut lining (often called “leaky gut”). Instead of acting like a tightly sealed filter, the gut becomes more porous and reactive. When this happens, things that should stay contained can slip through and trigger inflammation, bloating, and that “off” feeling you can’t quite put your finger on.

This is also why so many people struggle with recurring digestive symptoms — and why I rarely see a G.I. Stool Map that doesn’t show some type of imbalance contributing to those issues.

While deeper healing usually requires a more personalized approach, here are some gentle, supportive things you can try in the meantime:

✨ Bone Broth (grass-fed)
A rich source of amino acids that support the gut lining.
If you’re sensitive to histamines or have high histamine levels in the body shown through testing, skip this one — it can make histamine-related symptoms feel worse.

✨ Marshmallow Root Infusions
Steep loose marshmallow root in cold water overnight in the fridge, strain, and drink on an empty stomach.
It’s soothing, supportive, and a great tool for irritated digestion.

✨ Reduce Refined Sugar
Refined sugar can feed the very imbalances that keep bloating and skin issues hanging around.
Try swapping it with maple syrup or local raw honey when baking or making drinks — your gut (and skin!) will thank you.

✨ My go-to supplement suggestion below:

Pure Encapsulations: Liver-G.I. Detox

You can get this through my fullscript link for 10% off. I always recommend this product to friends and family who haven’t had functional testing completed yet. This is really helping for binding to toxins in the gut and general circulation, blood sugar balance, and phase 1 + 2 liver support.
