The Negative effects of birth control nobody is talking about

For those using contraceptive options, especially the infamous copper IUD, birth control - copper toxicity is something you will want to look into and address since your doctor surely hasn’t.

If you haven’t looked at my article titled: Copper toxicity: The root of all disease - this is something I recommend you read beforehand to get a better background on the negative effects of excess, unbound copper in the body.

The use of birth control and IUD contraceptives have been a leading cause to the destruction of women’s health. This is a topic that is not talked about enough. And if you know me, I do not tip-toe around this issue.

Many young girls have found themselves being prescribed birth control to contain chronic symtpoms like acne, heavy periods, cramping and painful periods. And the age of girls prescribed birth control continues to get younger and younger. While this may seem like a harmless solution that you can stop with a doctor’s oberservance, this is often not the case.

Birth control and copper IUD’s have become widely used. But when we get all of these symptoms that seem to crash down on us all of sudden, like hormonal changes, PMS, weight gain, brain fog and trouble concentrating, the crazy bizarre behavior that happens weeks before our period even takes place, the racing thoughts all day and before bed…we pass it off as normal and ignore our body’s cry for help!

We are told that this IS normal.

Here’s what they didn’t tell you though:

Every woman that has taken birth control or has a copper IUD, is currently taking BC or has an IUD, or their mother has a history of taking a prescription contraceptive - has copper toxicity. Let me explain why that’s relevant.

When copper is placed in the body in this way, it is not bound. Instead, it floats around like a maniac, builds up in the liver and brain (hence why these crazy girl symptoms are related to “copper brain”). This is no good for our gut health, hormone balance, and overall health.

Additionally and most importantly, minerals like copper always have an effect on hormones. When copper rises in the body, so does estrogen. Leaving almost all of us at risk for estrogen dominance. The thing that brings you all of those awful hormonal symptoms. So while you want to balance your hormones, the copper that is built up in the body keeps you from doing that. Leaving so many women with weight gain they don’t feel they can do anything about, fatigue and low energy they can’t seem to shake, and anxiety from the copper overstimulating your brain and body.

Copper’s synergistic effects on estrogen not only effect women, but males of all ages. This can cause estrogen dominance in men and boys leading to unwanted body fat, excess aromatization, enlarged breasts, fatigue, bloating, and decreased muscle mass.

When most females stop the use of their birth control or IUD prescription, they may have an eruption of skin conditions including acne, hives, and eczema. Many have found that they are unable to menstruate after discontinued use of the contraceptive, and are now at the mercy of a new medication prescribed by their doctor to bleed again. These medications are typically Progestin to induce a period, Clomid to stimulate the FSH production, Lupron D and other Gonadotropin releasing hormone stimulants. The side effects are not desirable when taking these medications, nor does the use of these medications promise ovulation or menstruation. This is because contraceptive use has done a number on the body. Particualrly, lowering zinc levels significantly which is needed for all hormone production and a healthy immune system. Birth control also takes a serious toll on the health of gut and the gut microbiome. I see lots of women post-contraceptive use that have chronically low commensal bacteria, bacterial infections in the gut microbiome, low Secretory IgA levels, leaky gut and impaired mucosal membrane status, as well as the nasty digestive symptoms that come with it. And yet, they do not make the connection to the use of prescription contraceptives and their declining gut health.

If you are struggling to get your health back after prescription contraceptive use, you are not alone. With targeted gut, adrenal, and filtering organ support as well as mineral balancing, you are setting your body up to properly bounce back.

BUT, copper toxicity is not only a problem for women who have a history of contraceptive use. Copper is found lining our water pipes, in cookware, and more. We are now a country that is as a whole, COPPER TOXIC.

Yes, copper is an important trace mineral, but your body was never meant to have so much unbound copper in it, EVER!

AND COPPER HIDES IN THE TISSUES! Unless strategically removed with targeted support.

This is why I have helped women and teens ditch the symptoms that your practitioner may not have figured out.
